| Comments: This was my longest ride ever so early in the season. Normally, my first ride this long doesn't occur until Bike the Drive on the Memorial Day weekend. Home . . . to Cloverdale to Lawrence to [trail] to Lawrence to [Springfield Park] to Royal to Scenic to William to [Lake Street Bridge] to Rosedale to Mensching to Forest to West End to Walnut to Valley to Pine to Hill to Central to [Roselle Starbucks] to Main to Prospect to Granville to Hillside to Devon to Plum Grove to Oriole to Bluejay to Longboat to Schooner to [path] to Wise (becomes Biesterfield) to White Trail to Rohlwing to [bike path] to Busse Woods trail. Completed two loops of Busse Woods Trail (cw and ccw). Retraced path back to Plum Grove to [Roselle Metra Station] to Maple to Park to Main to Central to Turnberry to Cloverdale . . . to Home. Mostly sunny skies with temperatures that started in the upper 50s and ended near 70. Winds started out light but increased with time and became moderately strong from the SW. The return trip was largely into these headwinds. Started ride at 10 a.m. and returned home at 2:00 p.m. I rode most of the ride with Livestrong jersey over base layer and tights over shorts. I removed the extra layers on the return trip. |
