| Comments: Today, I completed the second metric century (100 kilometers) of my life. By so doing, I exceeded the 5,000 mile mark for my "One for All" initiative. I started my ride at 7:20 a.m. and reached 20K at 8:39, 30K at 9:11, 40K at 9:39, 50K at 10:13, 60K at 10:55, 70K at 11:42, 80K at 12:15 p.m., 90K at 12:55, 100K at 1:35 and Home at 1:45. Home . . . Cloverdale to Lawrence to [Lawrence Ave trail] to [Springfield Park path] to Royal to Scenic to William to [Lake Street bike bridge] to Rosedale to Forest to Rosedale to Heritage to Valley to Pine to Hill to Central to [Roselle Starbucks @ 7:47] to Prospect to Granville to Ambleside to Devon to Plum Grove to Oriole to Blue Jay to Longboat to Schooner to [bike path] to Biesterfield to White to Rohlwing to [Busse Woods bike path] to [Busse Woods Loop (cw)]. I then left the Loop after completing 3/4 of its circumference and took a spur path to follow the Salt Creek Greenway Trail. | Comments: Ride 1 of my "SeptemberFest" in Wisconsin. Rode the Glacial Drumlin State Trail with Gary S. and Dave D. Gary and I drove to the starting point in Waukesha (near Prairie and Cottage Avenues), met Dave there, and the three of us rode westward to Wales, continued to Waterville Road, and then returned along the same route. We started our ride just before 2:00 and completed it by 4:00. The weather was mostly cloudy, with temperatures in the upper 50s and light to moderate northwesterly winds. I wore long tights and a long sleeve base layer under my Livestrong jersey. |

| Comments: Ride 2 of my "SeptemberFest" in Wisconsin. Rode the Glacial Drumlin State Trail with Gary S. Beginning just before 9:00 a.m., Gary and I drove from his house to Wales, then began our ride westward. We passed through Dousman and Sullivan before turning around near the intersection of Route 18 and County Road P. We then retraced our route back to Wales, which we reached at about 1:00. On the way back, we visited the Bicycle Doctor in Dousman. They adjusted my front brake pads, eliminating the squeal that had started the day before. I also purchased a pair of winter cycling gloves. Temperatures started in the mid-40s and rose to about 60 with very light easterly breezes. I wore long tights and my riding jacket over my Livestrong jersey over a long sleeve base layer. |
