I am a certified USCF/Norba Expert level cycling coach. I coach online at www.everybodysbikecoach.com. Owned and operated, or worked in a bicycle shop for 15 years now. Avid Road and mountain biker. Ride the tandem with my wife Karen and hammer the roads with the Paceliners Bicycle Club here in Kentucky. My grandfather owned a bicycle shop as I was growing up so I got bit early. Didnt ride at all through High School or college. Started back when my son turned 5 and I bought him a bicycle at a department store. I got one to ride with him and it changed my life. Upgraded to a real bicycle within 2 weeks. Quit my job and went to bicycle tech school, then worked in a shop for 3 years to learn the trade. Opened my own shop in 96 and still wake up with goosebumps on the arms about the ride after work. Ive logged over 150,000 miles on the road and trail, but only started keeping a real record a couple of years ago when I was introduced to this site. There are very few brands of bikes I have not owned. Being a shop owner I get to upgrade almost yearly (one of the few fringe benefits as the pay definitely isnt). Remember you local shop when its time to buy, please. We arent in it for the money. If we were we would be doing something else. You name the brand, Ive owned, or at least ridden it. My son is now in the Air Force stationed in North Dakota (thank goodness). The photo in my profile is of me and my baby brother Nick who is 14. He started riding a few weeks prior and has become an overnight sensation. He won Gold at the Bluegrass State Games for the juniors and averaged 23.6 mph for his race. He is now 16 and one of the top juniors in the nation. I got the Bronze in the mens division and have won multiple gold and silver medals over the years at the Bluegrass State Games. (Basically our states championships). I rarely get to race these days but still get in 4-5 a year to keep current. Our coaching business has become my passion over the last few years and it has grown exponentially by referral alone. I recently completed a Training With Power course taught in person by Andy Coggan and Hunter Allen in Clermont Florida. It was an amazing experience and an honor to learn from these giants of coaching.
