Cycling all my life, its a perfect way to commute. Bike Commuting was often a necessity during my teens and twenties.
Today I'm cautious on roadways whether on a bike or in a motor vehicle.
After many years of limited bike use, in 2003, I began again doing occasional work commutes and fitness riding. Logging every mile since February 2003, I began using a Garmin GPS unit in 2013 as an odometer device. Mostly, the journaled miles are work commutes.
Since August of 2006, I have used this website to journal my cycling activity. Logging and journaling is motivational. I have increased my biking effort significantly since first using BikeJournal. Keeping track of my cycling activities has proven helpful in many ways such as in monitoring use and wear on bikes and components, as well as a motivational tool for measuring performance.
