I've loved biking all my life. Bike Commuting was often a necessity during my teens and twenties. Those early years had times when my motor vehicle operation privileges were restricted/suspended/revoked. Biking was a practical fall-back during those years...Today I'm cautious on roadways whether on a bike or in a motor vehicle.

In 2003, I began again doing occasional work commutes and fitness riding. Journaling every mile since February 2003. Mostly, those journaled miles are work commutes.

In August of 2006 I stumbled upon this website. I have increased my biking effort significantly since first using BikeJournal. Keeping track of my cycling activities has proven helpful in many ways such as in monitoring use and wear on bikes and components, as well as a motivational tool for measuring performance.
