I've been riding bikes for 52 years. When I was a kid in rural Mississippi, my bike was freedom. We rode all over the place to fish and swim.
When I was 33 the quarter finals for the '84 Olympics came to Baton Rouge. I got into track riding on our new Velodrome and competed as a sprinter. I placed fourth at the state finals, behind three riders in their twenties.
In '94 I had cervical fusion surgery. I thought I would never ride again. I discovered recumbents about five years ago and got my first, an Actionbent 700/20 Road Runner.
I the summer of 2009 I got my Bacchetta Strada. In 2011 up upgraded the frame to a 2005 Corsa.
