I had a couple of bikes growing up and lived on them in the summer. I got my first 10 speed (a Murray from K-Mart) and a speedometer/odemeter the day after I finished high school about March, 1974. I went riding almost daily and commuted a short distance to work. By the time I went to college in August of 1974, I had ridden 1,250 miles. I didn't know it then, but I was a tourist. I loved going riding and exploring in the country side of my small college town(Campbellsville, KY). My riding slowed down after that as I put on another 1,250 miles between then and 1992. I started cycling seriously again in 1992 when I bought a Schwinn Worldsport and then joined the Louisville Wheelmen Bicycle Club (now Louisville Bicycle Club). I did my first cycling event on this bike in 1993 (OKHT which I've done off and on since then). I retired this bike in March of 1994 with about 2,500 miles when I upgraded to the TREK 1220 shown below. I last rode the TREK in the 2007 OKHT on Sept, 8 & 9. I took delivery of the Bacchetta on Sept 7 and that is now my primary bike.
