This is the "Bit" mileage challenge for the first half of 2018.

So here are the "Bit" parameters:

A "Bit" must be in the first 6 months of 2018.
A "Bit" is your total mileage during your normal (24 hour) day.
A "Bit" is 12.5 miles but less than 25 miles.

It will require you post three bits of information: Date, Total Mileage for that date, the Number of the bit. You can make comments as well and comments that include a reference to a "bit" will be fun. Join anytime!

List any "Bit" you have ridden already (1/1/18-6/30/18) when you join in by posting the 3 required things for each "Bit" within the parameters. Letís have a bit of fun.

YukonPaul - 64
SafariCat - 51
KrateKraig - 20
markiansj - 16
Britt - 12
Redsfan - 10
HighFlyer - 10
Hawkeye761 - 9
Bikeman630 - 2

WooHoo! Thanks for bringing it back!

Even thought it -6įF when I went I started,
It looked really nice out from inside the house so I went for what I thought would be a short ride. But I was so nice and comfy I stayed out for almost 2.5 hours! (It did warm up to 9 degrees.)

12.84 miles of glorious snow riding.

Thanks for bringing it back!

#1 on January 1, 20.12 miles
#2 on January 6, 13.39 miles
#3 on January 7, 13.29 miles
#4 on January 8, 14.49 miles

Continuing what I started in December (got 13 bits). Have to take advantage of the mild "winter", that Phoenix has to endure, i.e. highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's. Will take a brief break tomorrow, to allow a one day rain storm to pass through. Then it's back to the bits.

Yukon is on the move!

I can match your first four, but not sure I can keep up with your pace. Weather and work are both changing for the worse the next week or so. Will try my best though.

#1 - 1/2 - 20.5
#2 - 1/3 - 21.1
#3 - 1/8 - 20.2
#4 - 1/9 - 21.2

Today's ride was a bit of a dream. Temps in the upper 60's, sun, minimal wind. Very un-January, but very welcome.

#5 - 1/11 - 15.7

A bit of a farewell ride... they are tearing up all the trails (and beaches and parking lots and everything) around the Chatfield Reservoir so they can raise the water level ten feet. Some of our favorite mountain biking single track will be under water soon. We'll have to forge new trails after the project is over.

#5 today, January 11, 13.65 miles.

The one day rainstorm passed on Tuesday and I was called in early yesterday, so I had to wait for today to get my next bit.
