This is the "Bit" mileage challenge for the second half of 2017.

So here are the "Bit" parameters:

A "Bit" must be in the last 6 months of 2017.
A "Bit" is your total mileage during your normal (24 hour) day.
A "Bit" is 12.5 miles but less than 25 miles.

It will require you post three things: Date, Total Mileage for that date, the number of the bit for this time frame. You can make comments as well and comments that include a reference to a "bit" will be fun. Join anytime! List any "Bit" you have ridden already (7/1/17-12/31/17) when you join in by posting the 3 required things for each "Bit" within the parameters. Letís have a bit of fun.

SafariCat - 37
Britt - 30
Hawkeye761 - 23
YukonPaul - 24
Redsfan - 21
KrateKraig - 7
Zurichman - 5
Bikeman630 - 1

#1 on Sunday, July 2, 14.1 miles.

Finally was able to get a full bit by adding 3 work commute legs that started at 12:17 am. Just too hot to do more.

Britt, thanks for doing this again!

Bit # 1 7/4/17 = 13.20 miles

A Bit-O-Honey, Independence Day and madden ride on my new bike.

Rode the River Trail in Burns park with my wife on the holiday as I rode my Giant Escape. Much easier riding with here on it than one of my recumbents.

Bit #1

7/5 15.51 miles

Beautiful day along the Chicago lakefront for a ride to Promontory Point and back. Unfortunately, this will pretty much be the end of my riding for most of the month. My dad is back in the hospital with uncertain prognosis and I will be spending from now until about July 20 either visiting him or travelling with my nephews.

Bit #2 - 7-4-17 = 13.20 miles

Independence Day ride with my wife. Got a bit warm for her.

Bit #3 - 7-7-17 = 15.59 miles
Call it my UHaul ride, because was get car bit'd (no should be fitted) with a receiver so I could put the bike rack on it. So Instead of waiting at the shop I rode my bike.

Bit #4 - 7-9-17 = 12.77 miles
Again road my new bike with my wife this time on Petite Jean mountain.

Bit #5 - 7-21-17 = 24.66 miles

Was worried I would get 25 miles at the end I just wasn't paying attention.

Well, glad to see you getting in a few rides. Hope you are doing better, I know it most be a bit unnerving at times to ride after you ordeal. I remember when I ran into someone head on while passing through the River Trail river wall gap. It still scares me enough I will go out of my way to avoid it.
