If riding 1000 miles in a month is just too much for whatever reason, you might be interested in the 1000-Kilometer Month Challenge

How does this work? do you report off of the riders journal or does the rider post miles ridden in the forum?

I'm in for 3 this year, Kirke. I think with the style of riding I'm going to be focused on it just won't lend itself to many 1000 milers, but I might hit a few.

Goal for '09 was 5, and got 4. Will try for 6 this year, April or May through September or October. Weather permitting.

Hey Kirke I'm in again. Our long range forecast for Jan/Feb is looking cold and stormy so, I will go for 9 months. Thanks for doing this!

I hope to get 3 Kirke, But if Steve Wilson is checking here, just want him to know that the "kid" 70plusrider, is only 5 miles behind you, Steve, so you better get to riding
