Since not everyone can manage the 1000 Mile Month Challenge (especially at this time of year), here is the metric version.
All!!! it requires is a quarter ride (40.23 km) for 25 days each month to meet the goal.
Also, there's no penalty for double reporting in monthly goal threads or using rides of more or less than the ideal daily ride.

So, the challenge: Ride 1000 kilometers or more in at least one month this year ... or as many months as you want ... go for all 12 if you have the time and energy!

Just post if you want to sign up - I've included everyone who signed up for the 1000 Mile Month Challenge.

I set up the sheet so anyone can update it, so you can even add your own name to the spreadsheet.

You say (All!!! it requires) as if it is a piece of cake. However, given the weather we have had in December and are likely to get in January and February and perhaps March even those low miles, by your standard, are impossible.

Aren't you down here in FL for half of January and February?
You should be able to rack up as many miles as you want.

Yes, I'll be down there, but I still won't be able to rack up as many miles as I want. But, that is because my wife will be with me. Typically, at least the last 2 years, I can get a ride in the morning between 10 am and 1 pm, then my wife and I do something together like kayaking or going to some event. Last year, as I recall, most mornings were way too foggy to be riding on the roads until after 10 am. I did notice that the month of February last year was my biggest month of riding. I'm hoping to get close to those miles this year.

I missed my goal of three months last year and I blame that on Harvey (one ride event cancelled and another shortened, both in October). Okay, the shortened ride was due to a front and not Harvey, but I blame Harvey anyways. And yes, they cancelled the one ride event but that did not preclude me from riding on my own. But I still blame Harvey. But I do blame myself for blaming it on Harvey. Man, I hate it when that happens.

Got my 1000km in yesterday, with a long, frosty ride. I know melo got his, since he is ahead of me (as usual).

Thanks for the bump HK, I hadn't marked as a favorite, so I could not find it..

I see you marked me down for Feb. I am not riding as much, and hsve lowered my RPM and doing just 3hours a day, Hope I can keep it up.
