 Cruel, Cruel April
It is said that April is the cruelest month and that has certainly been true this year. After some fantastic riding weather the first week of the month the weather actually got worse than it was in March. It has snowed off and on for the last two weeks although it doesn't last long on the ground. When it wasn't snowing the wind was blowing in the twenty mile an hour range, Today was the first day I had seen the sun in quite some time. The wind had settled a bit blowing only in the upper teens. I was inactive for the first week but finally had to get back on the trainer before my fitness level dropped down to civilian cyclist. Didn't do much but spin on the trainer but it at least got the legs moving and the blood flowing. So headed out for a short ride on my 'its too windy to ride" course up Fitzpatrick Hill. Felt fat and slow on the climb and didn't put much effort into it. Rode easy into the headwind on the rollers and didn't put much effort into the tailwind section on the way home. It wasn't a bad ride but really couldn't get too excited as the forecast for next week is high winds, cold weather and snow. April Sucks, at least this year.
