 Short Brisk Ride
Legs felt a little better today and went out with a hard effort. Stood up for the lower section of Old Odessa and spun fairly well over the rest to Odessa with the standard 11.1 average. Spun up the next section of SR 228 at a descent rate and again topped out a the standard 12.5 mph. Had a slight headwind on the next section to Mecklenberg that kept me in the lower twenties instead of the upper that I needed to make the bottom of the next hill at seventeen. A light rain was also falling but it was actually on the refreshing side and didn't cause any grief. Did the second climb in the big chainring. Did a steady pace and wasn't able to get too aggressive. Wind again held me back in the depression before the descent. Finally picked up a slight tailwind near Bennettsberg but then got delayed by road paving. Didn't go through Watkins again to finish and caught a tailwind down Skyline instead. Finished up over seventeen that is acceptable for the ride but am always trying for the eighteen that would be considered a good time for the course. Legs felt stronger today but had no snap.
