 Good Climbing
Went out on another expected easy pace day and surprised myself with my best time up Jackson Hill this morning. Usually I stand on the lower section to the corner and spin the remainder. This morning I spun the lower section and came out of the saddle around the corner. Legs felt strong and had really good spin once the steeper sections were history, and I hit the shallower sections. A slight tailwind helped on the approach to Catherine and crested with a twelve five average. Went back to a touring pace through the rollers to Cayutaville and cut back through Reynoldsville from Perry City. Got stopped for paving in Bennettsberg and had another good section on some fresh pavement as I kept up with the traffic in the construction zone. Pushed the big gear and kept the speed in the upper twenties and low thirties for a couple of miles into a slight headwind. Followed that with a forty five mile an hour descent into Watkins, and I felt like I was really flying. So had an excellent climb and some good speed work on what I had anticipated to be a touring ride.
