 Swartwood Loop
Wasn't sure how legs would respond after yesterday's speed work but opted for a ride with the Mark. Introduced him to the steepness that it Havana Glen road. It didn't kill either of us, and we soldiered on to the junction in Alpine. Didn't do any high speed stuff on the way out as we still had to deal with the rumble strips that forced us to share the traffic lane for a few miles. Fortunately traffic was light and friendly. Once we got to the bottom of Swartwood the pace picked up on the climb. Not so much the pace as the effort. Legs felt good on the climb, and once regrouping at the top of the hill, we did some speed work hammering downhill to Erin. Kept good speed and effort on the smooth new pavement through Breezeport. Slowed down once we got to Horseheads and rode leisurely to Millport where we climbed Burch Hill. We parted at the top and I headed back home via Middle Road and a screaming descent down Fitpatrick. Got some good miles in and didn't experience any problems after yesterday's effort. Good ride overall and wind has much less effect when you have someone to share the load.
