 Quest-vs-Sofrider -a performance comparison
1st rides doing a direct performance comparison between my two Cruzbikes.

Previous impressions had been that my version of the heavier Cruzbike the Sofrider was quicker, and a bit easier on climbs. With one slight exception todays ride(s) proved just the opposite. Quest was faster although Sofrider was a bit smoother.

The Quest is stock with the exception of the stem. The main issue with dialing in my fit on the Quest has been the stem, which needs to be longer/higher and adjustable for optimum handlebar placement. Finding the right stem would add knee clearance for a more ideal positioning of the handle bar. The adjustable stem which came stock on my Sofrider is more versatile. After todays rides, I made a further adjustment to the rear shock on Quest to make for a smoother ride.

My set-up on the 2007 Sofrider(V.1) is not stock. Nor is it set-up like the V.2. I modified the Sofrider with a 700c drive wheel and a triple crank back in 2010. Along with fenders and a luggage rack, The bike is ideally equipped for commuting and touring. Weighing in around 43 pounds -Sofrider rides smooth.

Todays ride with the Sofrider was started 15 minutes after completing the ride on Quest. Along the way a speed biker Ms. Pirnie caught and passed me as I "Cruzed" along at about mile 7 on the 2nd ride.

Often while biking along Trimmer Road, two dogs are out cavorting in their front yard. They always stop their antics and bark at me when I pass by. Today when I passed by they did their routine and barked at me. This time their owner, a young woman wearing a tank top over a sports bra, opened the front door and called them into the house. As I pedaled by I shouted out to her "Nice Puppies!" Was that sooo wrong?
