 Classic Cars on Johnson Hollow
Another pre-event weekend ride around Johnson Hollow. Legs were heavy again and didn't put out many watts into the upgrade climb to Millport in the headwind. Climb wasn't much better although the ride got a lot more interesting when I started to get passed by sports cars in a rally. This upcoming weekend the Watkins Glen track celebrates the history of racing and opens the track to the historic motorcars. They usually also run the cars on the old road course in and around the Village of Watkins Glen that was the US Gran Prix course before the track was built. This year the highlighted cars were Triumphs. So every few minutes I would be passed by small blocks of classic motorcars. They must have been setting them off in small groups so as not to severely disrupt traffic. I was passed by dozens of cars, and it helped to pass the time on this otherwise lackluster ride. Finished off the ride with a fast downhill into Watkins. Went home and packed up the bike and gear and drove to Maryland for tomorrow's Civil War Century.
