Broke clavicle in eight places on 3/23/12. Surgery, 3/28/12. Started riding again on 5/5/12.

Going back to my tricycle, I've owned 14 bikes so far (3 were hand me downs). My red tricycle - a Murray I think (1963), Huffy 16 inch (1965), AMF Renegade (1968), Murray 3-speed 26 inch (1971), Raleigh Record 10 speed (1972), Puegeot 10 speed (1979), Raleigh M80 (2000), S-Works XCFSR (2001), LeMond Buenos Aires (2002), Specialized Enduro Pro (2002), Trek 5200 (2004), Trek Madone 5.5 (2008), a 2009 Specialized Tricross Comp cyclocross bike and a 2011 Trek Madone 6.5.

I hardly rode at all between 1981 and 2000. I started mountain biking pretty seriously for a few years and then moved more towards the road since I didn't have to spend 90 minutes in a car driving to a decent trail.

I commute to work (30 mile round trip) most of the time and I'm an Assistant Cycling Coach for the Western PA Team in Training (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). I also ride with the Mt. Lebanon Cycling and Caffeine Club whenever I can.

Road bike
Description:  9/20/2003 - 4/10/2011. RIP. This bike was a true road warrior. It went out in true style during the weekend of 4/9/2011. It placed in the top 2 or 3 of all the major climbs on both the Saturday and Sunday MtLCCC rides. The bottom bracket was making an awful sound both days. however. It turned out that it was the sound of the BB spinning around in the carbon. The frame was sent back to its birthplace in Madison, WI and laid to rest after it was determined that nothing could be done. What an awesome bike... Rain, snow, sun, hail -- it took it all. Godspeed 5200!

Race-Lite wheels were replaced at 18,848 miles.
Ultegra shifters and rear Aksium at replaced at 25,257 miles.
