Have been biking on a nearly daily basis for basically all my life since the age of 5. Got hooked on my first road bike at age 10 when I absoultely HAD to have this 10-speed men's bike which was way too big for me (my dad probably finally gave in and bought it since he figured that he would get to ride the thing often as well, which he did).
Became a really addicted biker only while living in the San Francisco Bay Area for three years where I got introduced to mountain biking and finally and ultimately fell in deep love with road biking.
Am trying to keep my yearly milage up now that I have been living in Germany again since 2000. But am still of the opinion that people here are as nice, but not as cool as the biker dudes and dudettes in CA.

Road bike
Description:  My long-time dreamed-about dream came true as an early Xmas present to myself by the end of 2008: a titanium bike.

What a beauty - real craftsmanship has been put into tons of lovely details. And on top of the aesthetics, it is a smooth, yet speedy ride.
Have a feeling it may replace my "working bike", the TREK 1500, rather sooner than later ...

Lifetime Odometer: 13,060.7 km

Hardtail XC Mountain bike
Description:  fully XT-equipped and sporting a Mantiou R7 fork this one is a very smooth and cool ride
Who needs a fully, if you can ride this baby? (same question goes for disc brakes in my humble opinion)

Lifetime Odometer: 1,095.6 km

Road bike
Description:  A Beauty and a wonderful piece of work, or is it already art? Check out LeMond's spine design of carbon where it looks good and good old classic steel tubes where it makes sense. Even comes with the old fork stem plate, not just a printed or painted logo.
Hope you noticed what an elegant match the rather sleek and modern Tacx Tao bottle cages make for the classic slim steel tubes :-)

Full set of Ultegra components, 3TTT Stem, Handlebar, Bontrager X Lite Race wheel set, Bontrager seat post and CrankBrothers' egg beater pedals.

Lifetime Odometer: 2,269.6 km

Road bike
Description:  with a lot of tuning parts and hand-made wheels (the set is only just above 1200 g !!) spinning around American Classics hubs
still looking good and the most reliable buddy for daily spins that I have had in years

No, I am NOT going to give away that frame EVER

Lifetime Odometer: 22,774.5 km

700c Hybrid bike
Description:  A beast of burden that can be trusted to carry my loaded panniers over unpaved, paved, muddy, dusty - well, all sorts of roads and paths. Uphill is a bit of work sometimes - I am blaming the suboptimal set of sprocket sizes for that. But I am not replacing it for a better one as then it might turn out that the uphill strain has actually been due to too much luggage and too little pedaling power ...

Lifetime Odometer: 4,078.8 km

Hardtail XC Mountain bike

Lifetime Odometer: 7,159.4 km

Road bike
Description:  Oldie but goldie - nothing has been changed from the original configuration with complete RSX components and Mavic's CXP 10 rims.

And check out how nicely those bikes were made way back when. It even has a real (not printed-only) head tube plate.

Lifetime Odometer: 10,224.2 km

click to enlarge 1994 Trek T100
Tandem Mountain bike
Description:  Oldie but goldie - bought after 10+ years of use (and very good maintenance) from somebody else when the bike had run some 15,000 km already. And it is still good as new - TREK quality at its best.

All the components have been switched to Shimano XTR except for the Magura brakes.

Lifetime Odometer: 643.3 km

Vintage bike
Description:  This was given to me by my parents as a present for graduating from high school. And it runs and runs and runs....
