Most of my cycling is my 27km (round-trip) commute to work on the Novato hybrid.

Purchased the Bianchi in the Fall of '06.

Bike commuted through seven winters. Pretty well set up now. Making it through the first winter was a major achievement, second was fine-tuning the bike setup, since then it's been pretty easy with the exception of a few bad snowstorm days.

Road bike
Description:  Purchased from original owner who put 1000km on it.
Reparto Course M Alloy Pro with Campagnolo Veloce Gruppo, Net97 rims.

Replaced the 120mm stem with a 100mm in spring '08.

Not the lightest road bike out there, but handles beautifully, feels very quick.

Previous owner told me I have to give it at least one race, since it's never been raced.

Lifetime Odometer: 6,848.7 km

Tires:
700 x 23C Continental Gatorskin - Folding, front, 2,912 km
700 x 23C Continental Ultra Gatorskin - trainer duty, rear, 3,716 km

Campagnolo Veloce Cassette 9 speed, 407 km
Shimano Road Shoe single speed, 6,101 km

XC Mountain bike
Description:  Not much original on this bike.
Upgraded to Deore hydraulic disc brakes in '06.
Replaced the front wheel in '08 (taco'd)
Ultegra 12-23 cassette in '08
Continnental Traffic tires in '08

Major overhaul April '09:
- Shimano SLX Shifters
- Shimano SLX Front & Rear Derailleurs
- Race Face Ride XC 44/32/22 Chainset
- FSA ISIS hollow shaft Bottom Bracket
- SRAM PC991 chain

This has proven to be the perfect commuter bike. With slicks, it feels quite quick & responsive, with studded Nokians it handles most of what a Saskatchewan winter can dish out.

Came very close to replacing the bike this year, but rebuilt it for about 1/3 the cost of replacing it with something with similar specs.
