Started riding again about four years ago (2003) and it was hit or miss. After a couple of ventures into buying what I thought were good bikes, I finally found the Pilot 5.2 seen below and have loved it ever since.

I have high blood pressure and have found this to be an excellent way of controlling it and losing weight. I've lost 30 pounds in the the last two years and have a goal of losing another 5-10 by the time I'm done. Doing it slowly so that it stays off. You'd be surprised how Excel can be a great tool for weight loss.

By the way ladies, I'm available. And I love ballroom dancing as much as I love riding my bike. Where are you going to find that combination in a great guy like me?Actually, it's beginning look like that is changing. Sorry ladies, you waited too long.

Road bike
Description:  Standard Pilot 5.2 with inline brake levers, PowerGrips pedals and a stem riser to allow me to sit a little more upright. Specialized BG Alias saddle and about two tons of gel padding under the handle bar tape. Triple crank for the hills and couldn't live without it. I wonder if they would laugh a guy right out the Tour de France if he showed up with a triple?

Road bike
Description:  Bought this bike off eBay around 2003 for $250 and rode it in my first century. I replaced the racing handlebars with a straight bar and twist shifters. It was a nice bike for a couple of years, but then, with a large commission check in my pocket, I ventured into a LBS and a silver Trek Pilot started calling my name. The Cadex ended up on eBay (again) and was out the door for $212. Not a bad little fling for a few dollars.

Lifetime Odometer: 472.0 miles
