Maggie, hope you're doing well. It's nice to see you riding and I hope you keep it up! I've seen you "on line" before and just wanted to say "hi". Take care.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maggie at the BikeJ Reunion 2007. We both rode the Friday night Fire Tower Ride. Maggie was one of the few who ventured up the gravel road to the Fire Tower. A real trouper that Maggie. Not to mention that she made plates full of Mrs. Bartman's Power Bars for the riders on Saturday. Those bars were great and just what I needed to grind up those hills. When Maggie makes a decision to do a ride, I would recommend not attempting to stand in her way --- she defines the term "determination" and will finish what she starts.

Hi Maggie
Don't often look at the Forum's here on bikej.com but did see your's today regarding the weight loss (Noverber Weigh-In). Can you tell me how to get added to the list. I think this will motivate me to get busy. Thanks, FolsomRoadie

History:

I began biking regularly in 2004 at the age of 67. I did about 450 miles in 2004. Now It's September 2006 and I'm planning to do my first century next month - 3 days before my 70th birthday.

In February 2004 I volunteered to be Class D Ride coordinator for the Outdoor Club of South Jersey, and have been successful at building the schedule and recruiting ride leaders. My website shows our schedule of Class D and "easy C" rides.

In 2005, because of BJ I rode 3048 (miles Virtual RAAM Challenge). Also because of BJ I got to know riders of Team Cyclonauts who did 2006 RAAM. I got to build their website and crew for them during the first half of RAAM.

Although I've lost a lot of weight I still have 20 pounds to lose and so I run a weight-loss thread on BJ.

Description:  New on 7/30/08. The frame says Isis Pro, but I have the gearing of the Sport - sort of. Actually the LBS upgraded the sport gearing. The ring and front derailleur are Ultegra not 105. I do have the IRD 11/34 10-speed cassette but the rear derailleur is a Shimano XTR not the Deore LX. I've had the carbon seatpost replaced by aluminum so I can use the Detours High Tail bag.
