History:

Started cycling and enjoying the freedom of travel via two wheels as a kid growing up in Boston and would ride from Roxbury down to Boston Commons to Cambridge and back home. Even then I always rode with the flow of traffic and my father taught about the rules of the road.

Fast forward 10 years, I was managing a restaurant near Emory many years later and saw a pack of riders leaving Bicycle South and was bitten at the moment to ride again. I did local rides and did dumb things like blasting out of the pack and leave the peleton only to be caught on the first hill as gravity and oxygen depletion did a 1-2 combination on me. Living in Lithonia I saw MACC riders leaving from Miller Grove and stopped and talked to Larry and Dikobe one Sunday and have been with the club off and on since.

I had the pleasure in my youth of racing all over the country as well as Jamaica and Bermuda tours thanks to the late Dikobe Mcfarlane.

Traveling to Jamaica and participating in the tour of Jamaica rally opened my eyes on training taking my racing more serious and realized that only way to become successful was that me and pain where going to have be best friends from that day forward. Those Rastas had by Western standards some of the most outdated and unsophisticated bikes but their passion and desire to dominate those who opposed them was impact-full.

Coming over the pass to spur tree i will never forget being dropped and Dikobe and our masues yelling encouragement from support vehicle and some kids on the side of the road yelling "You too fat man", I realized all though serious as I thought I was, I was not serious enough about diet and training. The people of Jamaica always have a special place in my heart to this day for the honesty, hospitality and genuineness of spirit.

Much respect.
