History:

This is how it all started:
My sister in law had been doing a few sprint tris but had hurt her foot. After surgery, she wasn't up for running and since I had just started she asked if I want to do the run part of the tri if she does the swim and the ride. I agreed and got excited about it.
A while later, I asked her about it and she said she wasn't up for it at all. At that time I was already pumped to do it so she said I should just do it by myself and borrow her road bike. The tri was on July 2nd, I picked the bike up at the 26th and took it for a spin immediately. I was hooked!
The next day I called my Dad who is also an avid biker in Germany and told him how awesome it was. He said I need my own bike, not a loaner. Once I told him I have no money right now, he said he'd buy me a bike. I went to Village Bike in Grand Rapids and looked at the bikes. I picked the low end 2010 Giant Avail 3, and while I was worried that I would outgrow it I am still very happy with it.
I have been running mostly to lose weight and riding too, but riding is so much more fun. After running for an hour, i am wiped. I can ride the bike for much longer!

Update: OK, so I decided to sell the GIANT Avail 3 and trade up to a 2011 Fuji SL1 Pro LE, full carbon frame and fork and mostly Ultegra components.
