Hey, we've got a great site here for pictures taken on a recent ride, and folks post a lot of their great shots. But what about the rest of the great artwork folks discover or produce as a result of their love for cycling? I remember seeing a great one one of our members' daughter did for him, and between that, and some recent watercolors my own beloved MimiTabby has been doing, I just thought maybe we need a place to post our "OTHER" artwork. Paintings, kids' stuff, etc. Along with the art, maybe some nice discussion on what inspired it, who inspired it, all that stuff that makes it unique and special in your life.

This sculpture was commissioned by the bike club I belong to and presented to me at our annual members meeting for the behind the scenes work I performed throughout the year. I was very surprised to receive it and it was one of the prouder moments in my life. To the best of my knowledge it is one of only three produced.

Photobucket

This is a sculpture that is downtown in the "art" district that sat across the corner from where the downtown Bike Line used to be. What is difficult to see in the photo is that there are lights strung on it as well and though I never got on it to see if in fact lit up when ridden, it was said that the stationary bike was used as a generator to light the upper part of the sculture made from used rims.
