And.....I'm Back! amazing to see that after almost a decade that the group that Sam and I started is still going! once this was the premier weight loss group on Bikejournal! since I left I've lost weight, had 2 knee replacements (parts upgrades can be great things!) gained most of the weight back now im working on losing it again! the cycle continues! Just wondering if any of the old gang is around and still riding? how are others doing out there?

Yeah, Tried them all. Just found that going heavy vegetables, cut out the carbs and ride my bike more takes it off. Was off the bike for about 5 years because of my knees. Made the mistake of listening to the people that say you should wait till youíre essentially crippled before you have them replaced.
Thatís a mistake in younger people (around 50 yrs old)in my opinion because it destroys your life and keeps you from doing what you love like cycling!
Got them replaced with some high end custom parts and have never been happier! Time to ride!

First of all, welcome back to bikejournal.

Secondly, vegetables ARE carbohydrates. Both fruits and vegetables belong to this large category of macronutrients, of which there are 2 others, proteins and fats. Perhaps, you meant to say that you cut out simple sugars, which also belong to the carbohydrate category, in an effort to loose weight.

Thirdly, please consider joining any of the challenges that exist on bikejournal in an effort to burn those calories.
