First time looking aroud the site as I attempt to get back into riding bikes. There are a mess of clubs on here and but none in Orange, TX that I see.

So I would like to find a club that supports riding some of the old Schwinns. So my question, is there a club in Orange or is there a club where every ride posted is on an old Schwinn?

Thanks guys.

KrateKraig, I saw you are in the Vintage Schwinn Riders so I joined them. From checking this year's and last year's mileage totals, the "riders" part seems inapropreate. Maybe we need some type of challenge with Schwinn mileage only posted to the club. Connies vs Krates vs Varsities? Mileage? Number of rides?

Yeah, I started that club when I was riding my vintage Schwinn's a lot. But I've since sold my Speedster and 3-Speed Sting-Ray, and rarely ride the Krate because I now live in a neighborhood with a lot of hills. 50 Pound Krate + Tall Geared 5 speed = No fun.

If you'd like to take over this club, I can make you the new Admin.
It would be cool to see the club used more.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to do that now.

Double K, sounds like you need a Super Sport. I saw one for sale in TX but frame's too small.

Really didn't join to drive a club but if you think it'll help, "STICK!"

Thanks. The one bike I got rid of that I miss the most is my 1973 Speedster.
A couple months ago I was in my favorite local vintage bike shop and saw an identical one in mint condition and thought really hard about getting it.

For the Vintage Schwinn Riders, there's a challenge on our club page. Take a look and let's see how we can do.

Old thread is a good place to post a link to an old video of an old bike going really fast. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ytgtsy7HI0
