I lost @ 40 pounds and no longer qualify for this club. Can I stay in it, or do I have to switch. I know it's not a worldly issue, but I want to be politically correct! Most of the Clydesdale members do not "donate" their miles.

Congrats on the weight loss. I didn't know about the Clydesdales club on bikejournal until reading your message, but I'm in a similar boat of no longer qualifying for membership.

Feels pretty good riding an effectively weightless or even an anti-gravity bike, eh?

I don't know if I would say weightless. Thanks though. Most of my riding this year has been on the Raleigh 3 speed. It's a whole different mindset and I am having a lot of fun.

I qualify for Clyde membership every winter and spring, then disqualify myself every summer and fall. Right now, I'm solid Clyde material. Well, maybe not so solid... more like a gelatinous goo-like consistency.

Me too! Failing the weight limit, does being rated as a Big Ugly Guy (BUG) qualify?

Clydesdale-ism traditionally begins at 200 lbs. for cyclists and triathletes and goes up from there. It's a threshold I've teetered on for the past six years. Women cyclists and triathletes have an "Athena" classification, but I don't remember the qualifications for that.

Ok so I might have started out the year in this class @ 200lbs. I'm now happy to say I weigh 180. Good luck to everyone and happy riding.
