Question: I am going to be on Sunset Beach, NC for a week. I must confess never been on the East Coast, other than Florida’s East Coast. I guess it would be a nice safe place to ride my bike for some exercise but really to just ride around the island or even back over the bridge. Seems like it would be a nice ride. Anyone been on Sunset Beach? Seems to be a lot of beach houses jammed on that part of Sunset Beach.

I grew up not far from there along the coast. I do know theres a nice Bike path that runs from Myrtle Beach south to Murrels Inlet. But its like 30 miles from your destination. They also have the hard beach sand so riding down the beach is pretty cool too, even on skinny tires like 700s.

NC is known for all its Barrier Islands and stilt houses so most likely Sunset Beach is goin to be similar to Emerald Isle where I grew up

ps..Better yet head further north to the Outerbanks, ride the ferry and ride Hwy 12. Friendly people and very scenic. I sound like a travel agent don't I ?

It looks like there are some good possibilities for rides.
