I'll start it out by telling about my purchase of:

--Freddy Fenders (Hardcore/Fanatique) for my touring bike.

--Shimano MTB shoes w/recessed cleats so I can walk around this summer at all the tours I'll attend without trip/tropping like a troll.

--Eggbeater pedals for said Shimano MTB shoes w/recessed cleats. I've heard more good than bad about these, and I'll take care not to let them fall apart on me, giving me the big red cross by my name.

--A big box of bicycle tools... so many in fact that I don't know what half of them are used for.

I bought all this stuff (and more) at Performance Bicycles with my Christmas gift certificates. Yippee!!

I'll Play.

Most recent purchase- CO2 inflator and PI CalienToes.

Next Purchase- A bike, of course. Looking for a new [probably] full carbon bike that is more "race" oriented than my current light tour/commuter/brevet bike. I'm just starting to look so any and all suggestions are welcome! (practical budget no more than $3500, but less is better)

Let's see what ya got...

Didn't buy nuthin' yesterday or today. Score one for reducing flagrant consumerism (Got a bag for hte back of the Gazelle last week 'cause she wanted to do as good a job as the camels.)

I am getting my Schwinn's bottom bracket removed (we have one of the two tools needed and decided someone else can do it for now). We'll buy the "fixed side bottom bracket tool" sometime, just not now. But gotta do it soon since those old school tools may become scarce due to obsolescence of that kind of bike technology.

So, I "bought" the labor needed to get the Schwinn ready for its new compact crank, which I bought last week.

Howard, you'll appreciate the fenders. I even have them on my bike here in AZ.

Keep riding eventually you'll discover the function of each and every tool.

BryanG,
I'm falling in love with the Fuji Team, carbon frame and fork, Shimano Ultegra rear/105 front, 17.9 lbs. of sweetness, little dabs of yellow accent on the frame, and MSRP of $2,100. I'm sure I can get it for much less at Performance Bicycles. Yes, it's love at first sight for me.

Yes, that bike is on the radar LOL! Got good reviews in cycling plus a little over a year ago, compare very favorably to the Madone and Storck Scenario 1.0, which was their fave. Our local performance has the Team frame (in my size) decked out in full Record components, more pricey though I'll just have to keep checking for sales.

Others on the radar

Trek Madone 5.2
Scott CR1
Cannondale synapse
Cannondale CAAD9
Orbea Onyx
LeMond Zurich

Would love to check out
Look
Colnago
Storck etc. but just too pricey for these European bikes at this time.

BryanG, Trek has sale going on until May(2007 Hit the Road).
Tuesday I ordered the Madone SL 5.5 for $3299 w/ full Dur Ace.
Beautiful bike. Unfortunately out of stock. Fortunately LBS is a Trek Concept Store so my order goes to the front of the line.

Today I ordered a Project One Trek Pilot 5.2 spa wsd. Why Project One? Because I really wanted a green bike and I really wanted the Pilot, which comes in ice blue. Sioux approved the three-color design on Tuesday (thanks Sioux), the bike shop figured out the configuration, and I got measured today. The actual bike should arrive in 6-8 weeks.

My hybrid will then become my running errands around town bike.
