I don't see a new thread for this, so I will give it a shot

This is the school between Gray Court and Owings

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

To install a picture on Bike Journal first save your photo to a file sharing site such as PhotoBucket. Once there copy the HTML Code. Then on Bike Journal Paste that code. It will contain a long script that will end with

"Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos" />

Insert the phrase width=55 after Photos" and before /> to make it look like this

"Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos" width=550 />

That phrase will make your photo the correct size for the format. Once you finish the entry you should have your picture installed and correctly sized.

GW_12 - I don't post much to the picture thread cause I am a lousy photographer, but I want you to know I always appreciate your photos. I seem to vicariously ride in your beautiful environment even when I look out my window at the snow piling up, I think there is hope and spring is just around the corner. Even if it's almost 4 months away.

Nice photo gw_12...........

Heres what I saw today: A shady road that leads to the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine.

Atop the Vilano Beach Bridge looking northward near A1A.

Same spot but i cropped the picture so you could see the sea-smog I had to peddle thru this morning.

I have to remember to post ride photos again. I had a lot last year but didn't upload them to photobucket so that I could post them here.

Yay! It finally snowed!
Only about 3 inches so I was able to just ride the trail to pack it down. Then we snowshoed the trail we didn't ride.

It took about 30 minutes of riding in the quarry to make a sweet hard packed trail.

On the way to the quarry.

1020ski about to groom the trails by pulling this sled while snowshoeing. Great Winter trails don't just happen, it takes a lot of time, work and calorie burning.

LEBOWSKe breaking trail.

Trail above the quarry.

Thanks GeeWizMan. I'm not a very good photographer either. I just take lots of shots and get lucky sometimes .

Here's one from today's late afternoon ride in North Livermore ranch country.

If you just have 3" of snow, you don't need snowshoes, just winter boots and walk on through. You'll just be tearing snowshoes up on the rocks below...

Meanwhile...

It was cold today, but clear and sunny, so I still got out for a ride.

I went out to White Rock Lake. Here's a shot from a little park overlooking the lake, with downtown Dallas in the background:

I got on down closer to the lake and tried a similar shot, but with a tree framing it:

Yesterday, we did a 200k. It was cold, and while we were riding, we saw a guy with a kayak on the roof of his vehicle. I commented that he was nuttier than us, and Sharon said, "But they DO use those in cold weather, too!" So I was just trying to reframe the shot above and incorporate the tree trunk, when a kayak slid into the frame and caught me by surprise. It was 37 or 38 degrees by the bike thermometer.

I got on down by the dam. We've had rain so the water was running good.

My bike:

The old Waterworks down by the lake. White Rock Lake hasn't been used for municipal water for years.

The pump (I assume that's what it is) in the picture above:

On the way back, I stopped for a road bump photo. "A thing of beauty is a joy forever", etc. I'm thinking to try this from a different angle in B&W:
