 3rd flat this year
That "funny" sound...

The hissing/"Phwishing" noise I heard pedaling toward Washington Street while on Canal Road last night, was a puncture to my front tire. The noise stopped after spinning another 300 or so feet. At the time, I thought the noise was coming from the back wheel(hoping it was only litter trapped between the brake and rim). It sounded like air but the tires seemed well inflated. Any way, I made it the 2 miles to home and didn't give another thought until discovering the flat tire this morning.
Making it home or to a shelter is another reason to use a leak stop compound, especially when touring!!

On the ride today:
Well, the rain was light and intermittant... That said, the most I could muster today falls well short of my needed daily average to make it to 600 miles by friday....
(After today I need to average 37.2 miles for the next 5 days to reach that 600 mile goal -not sure that it is doable on a work week!)

Todays ride went to Spencerport to post a couple of bills. Taking the long way there and back has become routine:
~the route:Hinkleyville->O-P.T.L->Gallup->Towpath/Canal->UnionSt->AmitySt->ChurchSt->AmitySt->EvergrenSt->WestAve/LyellSt/DepotSt->WashingtonSt->Canal->Gallup->Ridge->Hinkleyville->Home;

Earlier today I took Ginny to an urgent care facility. She's had a low grade fever for several days now, -and a sore throat. She's been battling a virus or bacterial infection/cold for a couple of weeks now! Some antibiotics will have her feeling better soon!
