| Ride Description: Karen P. is back (yippee) so we headed out to the Dajia Wharf ride via the Grand path. Stayed on the left bank out and back. Then we went to Guandu. After Guandu, Karen headed back home, and I continued on with a shortened River Loop ride. When we first started out, we were on the dike road, a scooter decided to swing out and pass us, but since he couldn't see another scooter (coming the wrong way on a sort of one way street) they colllided, knocking both guys off. We stopped right away, got cell phones out, but one driver used his to call. Onlookers came by to see if they were needed. Drivers weren't hurt terribly, although one looked like his shoulder and leg were both hurt. Policeman came, and after talking to the scooter guys told one passerby that Karen and I didn't need to stay. Whew. At Guandu, Karen and I decided to try a new donut place and some lemon juice with cubes of clear gelatin. Not bad tasting, but I don't like to chew what I am drinking. I had gotten over the red bridge, and a ways down the path when I all of a sudden didn't feel very well. Got to the temple after the pedestrian bridge and I was certainly glad to see a loo. Sat in the park for awhile, then pretty much limped home, sitting for awhile at Dadaocheng Wharf, and taking David's shortcut to cut some miles off. I believe I will NOT be trying that drink again any time soon, and most likely will save my hankering for donuts for the good place in Bali. I'm still not feeling all that great. I was hoping to get in 67 miles today to get my mileage to 4,000, plus my last metric needed to reach my goal. Oh well. |
