| Weather Conditions: Oh brother, before my tire blew I had already decided to just do the River Loop because the wind was knocking me around. Getting pretty tired of it. The temp was perfect, and the sky was a nice clear blue. |
| Ride Description: Well, what was going to be a metric on the bike paths turned into a very shortened River Loop ride. Just as I was going through the stoplight to get to the Taipei Bridge I heard a loud backfire kind of noise. When the guy on the scooter ahead of me turned around, I knew it wasn't him, and just at that moment, my tire went extremely flat extremely quickly. Hmmm, get the tire off, nothing to be found, but the bead sure looks funny. Oh, it looks like when my fork was put on yesterday, one of the guys adjusted my brakes, and they were riding right on the tire. I was in a good spot to hail a cab, left the front tire off and stuck the bike in the trunk and off we went to Tienmu. I've had a foldable Sercas just waiting to go on my front wheel, so today seemed like the appropriate time. And yes, the brakes have been adjusted so they are only on the rim. I'm sure I'll be riding a bit trepiditiously for the next few times I go out. |
