| Weather Conditions: Gray, threat of rain, streets still wet from a heavy downpour, strong winds. Sun did come out for long enough to give me a bit of a sunburn. Temp in the high 60's to low 70's I think. |
| Ride Description: Jeanne and I were pleasantly surprised when the pouring rain quit early enough this morning to ride. We headed out to see if we could go on the Grand Hotel bike path, but it is still closed while the bridge is being torn down, so we went the other way via the yellow tiger and the sidewalk by the Grand. Got over to the dragon boat races wharf in time for the opening ceremonies for the run-kayak-run race that our colleague was in. David joined up with us just past the flying bridge, so after the race, we went to the other side of the river for a bit, crossed a bridge, and then went out and found a 7 Eleven for me since I had totally bonked. After eating a bit of a Snicker's bar and drinking a few swallows of cranberry juice, we headed back home past the fountain, through alleys and parks and up and over the new ramp at the little amusement park. Even with my bonking, and a fierce fierce fierce headwind, this was a great, fun morning. Good company helps. Thanks, Jeanne and David! |
