Distance: 25.54 miles Category: general: leisure - group Altitude Gain: 0 ft
Time: 02:16:29 Avg Speed: 0.00 mph Max Speed: 0.00 mph
Terrain: Road: Flat Bike: Giant Freeda 700c Hybrid
Weather Conditions: Temp fantastic...68°, maybe. Wore my light windbreaker the whole ride. Bit of rain on the way home. Threat of rain the entire ride.
Ride Description: Thought this would be a no-ride day, what with the buckets of rain at 5:00 this morning. But...6:30, rain had stopped, sky not terrible threatening. Jeanne was the only other nut who showed up for the ride, so we went out to Dadaocheng Wharf and back. Did get wet, but the rain was light and mostly the last 5 miles home. Had my one close call when a dumb a@@ walked out right in front of us on the bike path...good reflexes had me stopped without running into Jeanne OR the idjit. Almost went down on the bike on Piglet Bridge...road was wet, metal was slippery...good reflexes kept me upright. Barely. The bike is a mess, but the ride was worth it.
