Nice blog TXP! Had to check out google maps to see where you are. Had combat medic training over at Ft Sam way back when. Thanks for all you do for our brave men and women in uniform!

I have enjoyed riding as early as I could reach the pedals. Road/raced bmx then switched to road. Joined Army where, in a training accident during peace time, I crushed 3 vertebrae, broke pelvis in 2 places and took large piece of shrapnel in my left temporal region. I was paralized for over 3 months & told most likely would never walk again. It took over a year to learn how to walk again once some feeling & motion returned to lower back & legs. During rehabilitation I road a stationary for physical therapy. Over the years I returned to riding a fat tire Cruiser then an MTB with suspension. Now riding road. On most days I feel better getting off the bike than I do getting out of bed in the morning. Cycling has improved my muscle tone and coordination and helps to reduce neuropathy (shooting pains) and cramps in my legs and lower back. Doctors say keep it up. I'm just happy to be out pedaling again!

Please support our Troops by checking out the Wound Warrior Project Soldier Ride and help out if you can: http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org Also, Check out Soldiers' Angels http://www.soldiersangels.org This is a really great project. These are also the guys who bought my Terra Trike for me. Thanks a bunch Soldiers' Angels and keep up the great work.
If you are not in the U.S., please support the Troops that are providing the freedom that makes all this possible.

Many thanks to Bay Area Cycling and Fitness (Bay Area Schwinn) in Webster and Pasadena. These guys help keep me rolling.
