Goal for today's ride was to repeat my Johnson Hollow route with the climb up Cemetery Hill trying to keep the heart rate and watts high for the full twenty miles. Wind was out of the west blowing fairly hard but wouldn't get much exposure to it on today's course. Had a mile or so warm getting across town to the foot of the climb. Started as usual out of the saddle and made it farther than the last attempts but still not to the turn. Kept a strong pace with only a brief faltering near the top. Put out my best time of the year but not my most watts. Kept pushing the pace trying to keep as much pressure on the pedals as my heart would allow. Had to stop briefly for traffic getting into the hollow that wasn't ideal but was quickly back up to speed. Just got over the high point of the hollow and was getting set for so a fast descent when it started to shower. It wasn't hard enough to get me wet but the drops on my computer screen were causing it to cycle through the screens. Just was hoping it wouldn't delete my file as actually had a good run going. It dried up after a couple of miles, and I hammered down to Millport. Was a bit worried as to what way the wind would be blowing through the slot, but it turned out to be mostly tailwind. I had already matched last week's average by as I went through Millport so could only improve on the time barring aa mechanical or cracking. End up adding another mile an hour to the average and was happy with the day's performance. Still not climbing very well but am climbing better.
