Had another day and a half of rain but weather finally cleared late in the day. Forecast had been for sun all day but that didn't happen. Had contemplated riding a fifty miler today but rain but a damper on that. Ended up just taking a short ride to Millport that was probably for the best as the legs were still sore from Tuesday's effort. Thought I'd be pushing a headwind up the valley but it turned out to be from the west that turned into a variable wind due to twisting nature of valley. Spun easy on the way up that really only has one short climb at the end but still accounts for over four hundred feet of climbing. Traffic was much heavier in the late afternoon and a bit less giving as card and trucks seemed to not give as much space as they do in my morning rides. Probably just in a hurry to get home from work. Had a fairly decent time at the turn around despite my lack of effort and decided to push the pace on the way back. Put out some good power over a couple stretches and finally average over fifteen miles an hour. Legs are quite a bit faster when I avoid the climbs.
