Took yesterday off with sore legs but felt better today. Since I appear to have achieved my fifteen average milestone it must be time to start doing some distance and climbing. Did the Fitzpatrick ride but with the six miles of climbing at the start and twenty two miles of rolling downhill following. There was a pretty good south wind which should work in my favor as can finish with some high speed down the slot hopefully. The climb did not go well as I was sweating profusely over the eleven percent grade sections and plagued by a horsefly. Chest got pretty tight by the top and started to think about old age and heart attacks. Made the top at a little over 9 miles an hour average that is itself below average. Recovered nicely over the rollers and small climbs and made Millport Hill Road at over eleven. Hardly noticed the headwind and had fairly good flow over the rollers as now can go out of the saddle for a good distance. Rolled into Horseheads at thirteen and figured I had a good shot at fifteen. Tailwind was sweet though and had the fifteen by Millport. Kept the pressure on as wanted to try to match the last ride's average of sixteen. That came fairly easy and got back into town at sixteen three. Starting to perform better and will have try my luck at some distance and more climbing. Weight will again become important.
