Registered for a couple of mountain centuries in late September and early October so went back to slower riding to burn caloriesof hopefully fat, and also starting to increase climbing miles as first ride in Georgia has eleven thousand feet of climbing and following hundred in Tennessee has eight thousand. I'll need to step up my game and stay healthy to be able to finish the rides in a reasonable time. So started up the day with a climb to Odessa and then headed out to Mecklenburg via the Cayutaville Road. No heroics today or even goals as just wanted to ride steady. After reaching Mecklenburg, did a short climb up SR 79 to Black Oak Road and did the long shallow climb to the high point of Tompkins County. Didn't actually make it to the tower as stayed on pavement and dropped down to Trumbles Corners and returned vis Sebring Road and Jackson Hill Road. Pretty uneventful ride but the weather was cooperative and got some slow miles in. Later in the day I took the bike back out did an additional climb for the evening up Cass Road. I just went to Skyline though was tempted to cross Skyline and keep heading up now that the rest of the climb is paved. Saved it for another day though. Had a fast descent down Skyline to finish off the day.
