Whereas yesterday's outing was fun today's was not so much. Had planned on waiting until it got a bit warmer to ride but got bored and started out earlier than planned with the temperature in the low fifties. Adding to the low temperature for Florida was a cold north wind blowing in the low teens. Had to bundle in my cool weather gear that I had packed for the hill rides in the Carolinas on my return trip from Florida. Downloaded a course from the locals in the area and was a bit disappointed. The route was a series of loops through housing projects in St Johns County. Most of the milage was in bike lanes on four lane parkways with frequent stops for traffic lights. All the starting and stopping in the cold wind provided me with some less than satisfying miles. It was fairly safe and got some miles in but it turned out to be a boring ride seemingly mostly into a stiff cold headwind. Did see a couple of dozen other riders but most we riding in the opposite direction from me. Had a few good miles in one of the loops along the river but other than that was not a very memorable ride. It did warm up a bit toward the end of the ride and was able to strip off some clothes but most of the ride was chillin.
