Riding in South Carolina has so far been a bust. Got here on Wednesday afternoon and planned on a short ride with Mighty Young Joe but we cancelled as the wind was in the twenties and gusting into the thirties. Thursday was a rain out as it was in the forties and rained non stop. It was supposed to stop raining at nine this morning, but as of two, it was still coming down with the temperature just below fifty. We decided to chance a window at four that looked like the rain would let up. We just rode a couple miles to the Cowpens National Battlefield and did a few three mile low intensity circuits around the park. First half of lap was downgrade and then climb back out. Nothing radical but it was kind of like climbing after riding in Florida. Got twenty miles in before they started shutting the park down and did get back before the rain restarted. Not getting the miles in that I had hoped. We are going to head for the hills tomorrow and are hoping the sunshine and sixty degree temperatures show up.
