Drove up to White Springs to ride some loops from a local club courses. It was a bit cloudy today with the ever present winds, but it was near eighty and a good day to be on the bike. Roads north of Lake City appear to be in much better shape than those to the south. Started out heading into a fifteen mile an hour wind. Doing loops today made the wind less of a factor as didn't have to head into it for twenty mile sections. I think the longest straight today was five miles. Stared out slow but gradually picked up the pace doing some speed work on the tailwind sections. I did have a couple of dog sprints today. First was against an Australian Sheppard that had a good top speed but couldn't hold it as I had the strong wind at my back. Second was against a large white dog of unknown heritage. This one was into a headwind and was more sketchy. This dog was hindered a bit as he started from a standstill and took a awhile to decide to pursue. He was gaining on me, and I had to hammer out of the saddle to stay ahead of him. Felt like I'm getting stronger as the wind didn't seem as contentious today. Good riding with varied scenery through farmland and smooth roads.
