Wind finally abated and got back on the bike for my last ride in Florida for this trip. Planned on riding when it got a bit warmer in the afternoon as it was below freezing early this morning. Went out to truck to unpack my cold weather gear for a cool day of riding and found it wasn't too bad in the sun without the wind. So instead of being stuck in the motel headed out earlier than planned with the temperature at a cool forty-five. Headed to the west as when the wind was to pick up it would be from the northwest so hoped to catch a tailwind on the return leg. Had planned on a thirty-miler but had to add ten miles to get a loop without sand roads. Headed to Rocky Hill assuming it would involve some climbing. First few miles were not pleasant as though it was comfortable in the sun, it was brisk in the shade. Route turned out to be mostly gently rolling with maybe one long grade at five percent. Traffic was light and scenery mostly involved vast cattle ranges. Would have been a better ride if it wasn't cold. Didn't really suffer as forties without wind isn't too bad as long as it is dry. Ride improved greatly as it warmed into the fifties and kind of regretted not going for a longer ride but have to pack and get ready to head to the Carolinas tomorrow.
