Turned out to be a beautiful day for riding. Very summerlike weather with bright sunshine, temperature in the mid-seventies and a light south wind. Focus was again on trying to burn off another layer of fat so tried to limit speed to fifteen and under. Spun up the first steep climb out of Montour on Old Odessa Hill then continued through the rollers to Van Etten where I did my second and final easy climb of the day on Wynecoop. Was enjoying the ride when I was surprised to see another cyclist in the oncoming lane. Recognized him as Bob a guy from Sayre that I race with on Sundays on the computrainers. He turned around and rode with me for a few miles to Chemung. Pretty much illustrates the lack of riders in the area, as I ride thirty miles before seeing another rider, and he is already familiar. Once I got to Chemung I headed back to Elmira where I caught a tailwind home. Stopped in Eldridge Park for a quick bathroom break that was the only stop of the day. So got in nearly seventy miles of pleasant riding without any issues. Was happy that I didn't get another saddle sore today as have to start getting some longer rides in before the mountain century next month.
