 Dundee North Wind
Rode to Dundee with Mark today. Plan was to take it easy but the north wind had other ideas. Had a little sun that made for nice riding. Headed to Dundee by climbing Steuben St in Watkins and passing through Irelandville. Had a decent climb with the legs feeling fairly strong. The section between Reading Center and Dundee turned out to be more work than the climb. The shoulder was wide enough to ride side by side and we did that rather than paceline. Wind felt brutal for some reason though it didn't feel like it was blowing exceptionally hard. We did have good decent into Dundee and arrived with a little over fifteen average. Rest of the ride was quite easy. We went over the slight climb to Lakemont and caught a big tailwind home. Miles from Glenora to Gabriel's Junction ticked off at a good rate and the downhill into Watkins was intense, Mark started pushing the big gear, and I followed suit spinning out the biggest gear I had to stay in his wake. The two mile downhill really pushed the average up and compensated for the slow speeds into the wind. Turned out to be a pretty good ride but was much harder than anticipated.
