 First Peepers
Got back on the bike after an extended period of bad weather, earaches and sinus infections. Weather forecast turned out to be better than the actual weather encountered. It was supposed to be near fifty with a very light west wind. Actual ride turned out to be ninety percent cold headwind. I have kept up the indoor riding, but this was my first real outdoor ride in two weeks. Headed up Havana Glen without too much difficulty. Pretty bad though when an eighteen percent climb turns out to be the highlight of the ride. Hit headwinds as soon as I crested the climb and they continued throughout the ride thanks to an inopportune wind shift. Legs got tired after twenty miles and wind kept my various parts cold. Sun wasn't enough to brighten the day today. Good news was that I heard the peepers for the first time and saw a couple of motorcycles out. Bad news was no bicycles sighted and the fifteen day forecast shows zero good opportunity riding days in the forecast. Normally the computrainer season ends after March, but we extended it at least another two weeks due to sucky forecast.
