Got out for a short ride between the showers. Thought I would catch a tailwind to Millport but the wind had enough west vector to cause a swirling wind going up the valley and had an intermittent tailwind instead. Didn't put much effort into the first third of the course but made a hard effort up the climbing section into the wind. Stayed in the saddle and spun fairly well but got shut down over the top when I went dead into the wind. Enjoyed the downhill and the tailwind back to Montour but disaster struck when I hit a narrow construction trench on the shoulder and bent my rear wheel fatally. Trued it enough to miss the rubbing the brakes but alas it is a goner.
