 Swamp ROMP or Not
meet Steve at Overbrook Baptist and then to the Cafe to meet the Swamp ROMP. When I got to East North Street I could see a cyclist about a half a block back, so I pulled out and soft-pedaled to let him catch up. He whizzed by me and said ''Morning.'' But it wasn't Steve. I rode on to Overbrook and Steve was waiting for me there. We took off and were passing through Cleveland Park and talking about Ken when Ken dropped in behind us and was listening in. What a character!! We rode on to the Cafe and the riders slowly filtered in. There were 8 of us - Joe, Ken, Steve, Ray, Lynn, Seneca, Alice, and me. We rode up the trail at an extremely leisurely pace. Once in Travelers Rest, Ken and Steve decided to eat at Dukes but the group went to Williams Hardware. Alice, who is deaf, was confused and followed them to Dukes. I took her up to Williams and got her back with the group. Then I went back to Dukes and had a chicken hoagie with fries and lemonade. Kristy was full of information today. She named us her VIP (Very Important Pedalers) customers. We carried on for quite a while. We finally started back down the trail. We ran into Kimberly at the Bramlett Street crossing. We stopped for a powwow there. Kimberly wanted a picture of their three bikes - Specialized Roubaix bikes. We also had a discussion about some other goings on in our circles. Then we headed on down the trail and stopped by Free Hub Cycles grand opening since Ken saw free food! CuJo joined us there. We rode on down to Linky Stone and ran into officer Mike and had a discussion with him about a problem that has cropped up on the trail. We rode through Falls Park and into Cleveland Park. I told them that I wanted to pick up a few miles and headed down the trail to circle First Baptsit Church and the Y. Then it was back to East North Street and on home.
