Finally got out on the road bike after an unpleasant winter. I have only been out a couple of times on the mountain bike but have been riding the computrainer at least twice a week throughout the dark days. Weight is way up again and am still too fat to do any serious climbing so just went out on the flattest course I could find to burn some calories. Headed up SR14 to Horseheads, turned around and came back. Really struggled in the south wind on the way up and it really wasn't very pleasant. I did persevere though and survived to coast back with a major tailwind. Temperature was forecast to go into the sixties later in the day but opted to ride early with hopes of avoiding an ever increasing wind speed. Wasn't really a bad first ride, but it wasn't a good one either. We are supposed to get one more day of warm weather with major wind before the temperature drops back down into the thirties. Hope to try a hill or two tomorrow.
